Leslie Jackson RSS
Meet Mrs. Jackson!
I graduated from West Rome High School in Rome, GA in 1980. I earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics Education from Berry College in 1984. I began my teaching career at Pepperell Middle School in Lindale, GA in 1985, teaching 7th grade mathematics. I earned my Masters degree in Education (MEd) from West Georgia College in 1990, and my Education Specialist degree, also from West Georgia College, in 1991. I "retired" from formal education in 1993 to begin and raise my family (4 children!). I founded and directed a Preschool Program, serving 120 children and their parents from 1997-2005. I rejoined the staff of Pepperell Middle School in 2005, teaching gifted mathematics. In the summer of 2009, I was given the awesome opportunity to join the staff of Georgia School for the Deaf! I bring many years of public school experience and a recently acquired Deaf Education certification to the high school Math 1 and Algebra 2 classroom. With scaffolded instruction, remediation, and appropriately-paced instruction, we are making great progress in meeting the Math 1 and Algebra 2 Georgia Performance Standards (GPS) and Quality Core Curriculum (QCC) goals. I love your children, support them in all their endeavors, and hold them to high standards!
